West Wood walk

This is a 13 mile walk from West Wood, replacing the the original walk from Faversham (Brogdale), scheduled for this date. In brief, our circuit will now include Farthing Common, Postling, Tolsford Hill Lyminge & Elham.

We set off through West Wood in a southerly direction, heading over to Skeete, joining the North Downs Way (NDW) to Farthing Common. Staying on the NDW, we follow a delightful section of it, that we enjoyed at the start of our walk a few weeks ago on July 19th. The route drops down to Postling, before joining the Elham Valley Way (EVW), to pass the now colourfully painted trig point atop Tolsford Hill.

We remain on the EVW, through Lyminge, where we will have our usual short picnic lunch, whilst the Coach & Horses is handy also for a drinks break. After which, we stay on the EVW to Elham, before turning back in the direction of Rhodes Minnis for the return to West Wood.
