Linton walk

This is a walk of 12.5 miles starting from Linton, as we return there for the first time since May 2024 for an Ashford group walk.

We commence from the church along the Greensand Way (GW) towards Boughton Monchelsea Place, home to a 16th century country house, there is also a deer park within the grounds. One of the best views across the Weald is to be had from St Peter's church. The circuit continues by descending through the parkland and onward through Linton Park.

Forest tracks, woodland, fields and hop plantations follow, before reaching Hunton, we've stopped previously at the 13th century St Mary's church, which is just a brief diversion off the mapped route.

The route picks up the GW near Buston Manor, heading across to Reason Hill for the return to Linton, where the Bull Inn awaits thirsty walkers.

Well behaved dogs welcome, but please do keep on a short lead when required, there are however several tall stiles without dog gates.
