Faversham walk

This is a walk of around 13 miles, starting from Faversham, heading west from the town through the surrounding villages, which host a number of apple orchards. There are some quiet country lanes, but more of an urban plod nearer the start and end of the walk.

The route commences in the direction of Ospringe, passing the imposing church, then over to Painter's Forstal. The route continues across to the edge of Newnham, which is nestled in the Syndale Valley. Newnham has a major claim to fame, as James Pimm, inventor of the refreshing, gin-based summer drink, known today as Pimm's resided here.

The circuit turns in a northward direction across to Norton church, where lunch will be taken, before continuing through Lewson Street & Deerton Street. We eventually meander, back through Luddenham Court, followed by Oare on the return to Faversham, where there are ample choices for post walk socialising.
