Brenchley walk

This a walk of approximately 12 miles, which starts from Broad Oak in the village of Brenchley.

The undulating clockwise route, initially follows the High Weald Landscape Trail (HWLT) to Furnace Pond, it also passes close to Sprivers, which it leaves to head towards Hghlands Farm. The next highlight of the route is Marle Place, where the house is set within 10 acres of privately-owned gardens, which were first created in 1890.

Our picnic lunch will be at Matfield village green and the Star Pub is handily placed for some cool halftime liquid refreshment, or teas/coffee etc. After the break, we rejoin briefly the HWLT, before meandering through Horse Pasture and Brenchley Wood, during the return leg back to the start point.

There is no pub located at Brenchley, but the leader has it on good authority, that it would be best to take a short drive to the Halfway House at Horsemonden, for the post walk social gathering.

Dogs welcome, but please keep on a short lead when required.
